Kenneth R. Barmore passed away on January 13, 2015 shortly before his 98th birthday.

He was proceeded in death by his wives Ruth and Kay.

He was the loving father of Helen (Roger) Shimon and Tom (Pat) Barmore, and grandfather of Keith (Christina) Shimon, Amber nee Shimon (J.J.) Parker, David Barmore, and Cyndi Barmore.

He was the devoted great grandfather of Brayden and Ashley Shimon; and Ethan, Elliot and Abby Parker.

He was the beloved stepfather of Christy (Dan) Suerth and step grandfather of Katy and Dan Suerth.

He was the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews and their families.

Ken was raised on a farm and later moved to Evanston, IL where he developed Chicago Mailing Tube into a successful business. He later moved to Skokie and then to Northbrook, IL.  He spent his final years in Lincolnshire and Highland Park.

He enjoyed fishing and boating at his home in Twin Lakes, WI and in Canada, as well as traveling throughout the United States and many parts of the world. He was an avid reader and spent time caring for his family.

Visitation is Saturday morning, January 24th, 2015 from 10:00am to 12:00 noon with a service of remembrance at 12:00 noon at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., at Northwest Hwy., Mt. Prospect. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in honor of Ken to the charity of your choice.
